Mike’s natural horsemanship is obvious when you watch
him work with horses.
He has raised or trained horses to the AQHA Finals Top
Three Junior Cutting Horse in 1974, NCHA Top Ten 1986, Foundation
Quarter Horse Open Versatility Champion in 1997 and 1998, NCHA Semi-finals,
Derby Finals, World Pairs Driving Championships in Paris France
in 2003 and Salzburg, Austria in 2005.
Mike’s been on the cover of The Foundation Quarter
Horse, Southwest Trader, The Woodland’s The Villager, Carriage
Driving World, Somerset, NJ newspaper, Brenham Banner Press.
In addition, he has had articles about him in the Carriage
Association of America’s Carriage Journal, Chronicle of the
Horse, American Driving Society’s The Whip, Live Magazine,
and Quarter Horse Journal.
For a long time Mike judged for the National Cutting Horse
Association (NCHA), and American Cutting Horse Association (ACHA).
He is currently an “R” judge for the American Driving
Society (ADS). Mike was chosen by the United States Equestrian Team
(USET) to represent the US with his driving horses at the World
Pairs Championship in Paris, France, 2003, where his horses were
named “best fit”, and in Salzburg, Austria, 2005. Mike
was named 2005 Top FEI North American Pair Driver.
